π Explore the data β make connections & hold sources accountable
These tools tie your air readings to what's around them β nearby pollution sources, abandoned gas wells, and how our community sensors stack up against EPA's regulatory monitors. This is context and a place to look, not proof any one source caused a reading.
Around a pollution source β nearest sensors by distance & direction
rings: 1 & 3 mi
Near-field <1 mi = clearest signal for ground-level/fugitive emissions Β· vicinity 1β3 mi Β·
tall stacks (power plants) can peak 1β10 mi downwind, so wind direction matters as much as distance
(how we handle this).

π’οΈ Abandoned wells near our VOC sensors
Abandoned & orphaned gas wells can vent natural gas and
hydrogen sulfide (H2S). Our community sensors' VOC reading is a relative gas-response index
(it responds to hydrocarbons and H2S, but it is not an H2S monitor). This lines up each sensor's
VOC with the abandoned wells around it β context and a place to look, not proof any well caused a
reading. Sorted by nearby wells.

Took a reading with your own meter? Add the numbers β a photo of the meter or
scene helps back them up. Clearly labeled community-submitted (unverified) until reviewed.
